BBNaija: One Of The Housemates Already Declared Herself The Winner | Find Out Who

Speaking a few minutes ago in her diary session, Bisola made some shocking statements about what would happen if she wins or doesn’t win the competition. The eventual winner of the Big Brother Naija reality show would be going home with the sum of N25 million and a SUV. This itself is enough to spur any of the contestants to do all they can to win. But this is not the aim in Bisola’s case. Asked by Biggie if she wanted any of the evicted housemates to return, she answered that she would love for Soma and Ese to return. Wondering if she doesn’t feel the returnee housemates won’t hurt her chances of winning, she answered that her being in the house makes her a winner. Going further, she said she doesn’t need to win the money because the opportunity to be in the Big Brother house is one which is greater than the N25 million prize money.

“But today, two aircrafts land in Benin from Abuja every day. I remember when there were no hotels to lodge because nobody could invest in hotels in Edo State. $7 billion: I won’t apologise to Soludo – Falana

A senior legal counselor, Femi Falana, on Sunday said he would not apologize to previous Central Bank Governor Chukwuma Soludo over his affirmation that the ex-bank boss "dolled" out $7 billion government assets to brokers while he was in office.

Mr. Soludo has denied the claim, saying he acted right in his dealings as Central Bank boss.

Mr. Falana, in any case, said he construct his announcement with respect to actualities made accessible by the Central Bank amid Mr. Soludo's stewardship.

Read Mr. Falana’s full statement below:
On October 3, 2006, the Central Bank of Nigeria under the management of Professor Chukwuma Soludo gave a loan of $7 billion to 14 commercial banks in Nigeria. The loan was confirmed by the  Head of the CBN Corporate Affairs , Mr. Festus Odoko when he announced that “deposits worth $7 billion representing the apex bank’s share of the foreign reserves estimated at about $38 billion has been released to the consortium of bankers.” (The Guardian newspaper of 5/10/2006)
Barely four days later, a respected economist, Mr. Henry Boyo challenged the illegal claim that the $7 billion was a “share” of the CBN in the nation’s foreign reserves. Since the funds belong to the three tiers of Government by virtue of section 162 of the Constitution Mr. Boyo rightly stated that “the Senate and the House of Representatives would have defaulted in their constitutional duties if CBN is not invited to defend why $7 billion of our reserves should be ‘given’ to 14 banks without oversight approval.” (Vanguard newspaper of October 9, 2006).
Having confirmed that the banks have failed to liquidate the said $7 billion loan I have asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate the illegality of the loan and recover same together with other huge funds which have been criminally diverted or withheld from the Federation Account. With respect, the denial of the $7 billion loan by Professor Soludo  has supported the request for a thorough investigation of the allegations contained in my petition. However, having regard to the facts and circumstances of the controversial loan, Professor Soludo may wish  to direct his demand for apology to Mr. Festus Odoko!

Those who stole Nigeria’s money recruited militants against me, Buhari alleges

President Muhammadu Buhari has charged that government officials who stole the country's cash were the ones who selected aggressors in the Niger Delta against his organization.

The President expressed this in New York when he met with Nigerian experts inhabitant in the United States of America, as a component of his outing to the US for the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA.

The president who weeped over the condition of the country when he accepted office said: "The individuals who stole Nigeria dry are not upbeat. They enlisted the activists against us in the Niger Delta, and started to damage oil foundation. We lose a huge number of barrels every day, when each dollar we can acquire, checks. It is a disrespect that at least 27 states, out of 36 that we have in Nigeria, can't pay compensations."

President Buhari likewise told his group of onlookers that he had no motivation to gripe since he asked hard to God to make him president.

"Yet, I supplicated so hard for God to make me President. I kept running in 2003, 2007, 2011, and in 2015, He did. What's more, see what I met on ground. In any case, I can't whine, since I appealed to God for the occupation. In the military, I ascended from second Lieutenant to Major-General. I was military representative in 1975 over a state that is currently six states. I was head of state, got confined for a long time, and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which had N53 billion of that time in Nigerian banks.

"God has been great to me, so I can't gripe. On the off chance that I feel hurt by anyone, I request that God help me excuse. He has done as such much for me.

This was contained in an announcement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

The announcement peruses to a limited extent: "I am extremely satisfied with this meeting," President Buhari expressed. "Wherever you go on the planet, you find exceedingly able and extraordinary Nigerians. They not just have incredible effect on their host nations and groups, their money related settlements back home additionally help our economy, especially at such a critical time, when things are down.

"We got into inconvenience as a nation, since we didn't put something aside for the blustery day. For instance, somewhere around 1999 and 2015, when we delivered a normal of 2.1 million barrels of oil for each day, and oil costs remained at a normal of $100 per barrel, we didn't spare, neither did we create base. All of a sudden, when we came in 2015, oil costs tumbled to around 30 dollars for each barrel.

"I asked; where are the funds? There were none. Where are the railroads? The streets? Power? None. I promote asked; what did we do with billions of dollars that we made throughout the years? They said we purchased sustenance. Nourishment with billions of dollars? I didn't accept, and still don't accept.

"In many parts of Nigeria, we eat what we develop. Individuals in the South eat tubers, those in the North eat grains, which they plant, and those constitute more than 60 for every penny of what we eat. All in all, where did the billions of dollars go? We did a great deal of harm to ourselves by not creating base when we had the cash.

"Discussing our military, they earned appreciation serving in spots like Burma, Zaire, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, and afterward, all of a sudden, that same military could no more secure 14 out of 774 nearby governments in the nation. Agitators had seized them, calling them some kind of caliphate, and planting their banners there; till we came, and scattered them.

"We raised the resolve of our military, changed the initiative, re-prepared and retrained them; USA, Britain, and some different nations helped us, and today, the pride of our military is reestablished.

"Boko Haram went crazy, executing honest individuals in holy places, mosques, markets, schools, engine parks, et cetera. What's more, they would then yell Allahu Akbar. Be that as it may, on the off chance that they really knew Allah, they would not do such underhanded. Neither Islam, nor some other religion I know of, backers harming the blameless. However, they shed pure blood, murdered individuals in their thousands. Presently, we have managed that uprising, and subverted their enlistment base.

"Following 16 years of an alternate gathering in government, no gathering will come and have things simple. It's human. We require quality hands to run Nigeria, and we will use them. I will jump at the chance to welcome you home when now is the right time. Be that as it may, I'll like you to be prepared."

Disregarding what the Appeal Court or Supreme Court chooses, there would in any case be requirement for peace. It is it is possible that we do it under the steady gaze of or after the court judgment.

"We need to engage Fayose to enter into the peace procedure that the two pioneers are championing," he said.

EFCC boss Magu and Patience Jonathan This was the outcome of an investigation by Saturday Vanguard into the matter that had elicited calls in the polity for the prosecution of the former First Lady. Her decision to claim ownership of the money through a suit filed against Skye Bank at a Federal High Court in Lagos, it was learnt, easily made the commission to quit keeping the issue in the dark. The EFCC, it was learnt, got wind of the account more than three months ago, but decided to keep mute in order not to be accused of singling her out for prosecution out of former first ladies’’. A source told Saturday Vanguard that the operatives of the EFCC actually ran into the accounts in the course of investigating Dudafa over alleged diversion of N10 billion meant for Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, delegates. The source said: “It was the former first lady who put herself in a tight corner by going to court to sue Skye Bank, where the money was traced to and also asked the court to compel the EFCC to defreeze her account. “Indeed, I can tell you that the EFCC was working actively on the Dudafa case without any letter of invitation or oral invitation to the woman but she went to court to expose everything and we had no choice but to respond to her challenge. “It might interest you to note that these findings on these accounts were made since July this year but the details were yet to be made public when the former first lady slammed a fundamental rights enforcement suit on us and we were taken aback.’’ It will be recalled that a letter written by her lawyers on the matter, Granville Abibo ,SAN, and Co, stated thus: “It is noteworthy to emphasise that the said accounts, which were in US dollar denomination, were card-based accounts and our client is the sole signatory of these accounts. “The said bank officials also assured our client that they will change the account names accordingly and issue to our client new credit cards for the said accounts which were not done despite repeated demands. “However, our client has been operating the said accounts using the cards for her medical bill payments and purchases for her private purposes without any let or hindrance. “Our client was therefore surprised when the said cards stopped functioning on July 7, 2016, or thereabout. Our client immediately thereupon contacted Skye Bank Plc through our solicitors. It was only then that the bank officials informed our client that the said accounts were placed on a ‘No Debit Order’ following investigations and instructions from your commission and this is without notice to our client by either the bank or the commission. “It is in the light of the foregoing that we urge you to use your good offices to vacate the ‘No Debit/Freezing Order’ placed on the said accounts.” Mrs. Jonathan had, in the meantime, given the EFCC 14 days to defreeze her account and tender an unreserved apology. The ultimatum, which took effect on September 18, was contained in an open letter to the Chairman of the commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu. The letter which was written by Mr. Timipa Okponipere urged the Commission to leave Mrs. Jonathan alone, just as it cautioned thus: “We shall file an action at the African Commission on Human Rights at the Gambia demanding N5 billion in exemplary and punitive damages.” The letter said: “There is no established legal or political precedent for what the EFCC is currently doing to our client. How many former First Ladies in Nigeria have received the Patience Goodluck Jonathan Treatment (PGJT) to have warranted the EFCC to engage in the effrontery to freeze our client’s accounts and subject her to public opprobrium, ridicule, and disgrace? This must stop forthwith. “Our client is a respected senior citizen of international repute, a retired Permanent Secretary and the immediate past First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our Client is a law-abiding citizen who has never or at all been the subject of any criminal or financial investigation, whether at home or abroad. Accordingly, she has not been found guilty of any criminal conduct throughout a sparkling public service career spanning over 35 years. “During the 5 years our client served as First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between May 2010 and May 2015; she was the Initiator of the Aruera Women Foundation and Women For Change Initiative. “Our client is the recipient of numerous local and international awards in recognition of her untiring commitment towards uplifting the living standard of women, children and the aged in Nigeria. “Sir, it is against this sterling and meritorious background of our client that we most respectfully, write to draw your attention to the numerous breaches of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act 2004 committed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in cause of the Commission’s illegal and unlawful investigation of our client for alleged money laundering. “The EFCC must realize that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act 2004 is inferior in content and quality to both the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights, 2004.” It could not be ascertained yesterday whether the EFCC would summon the former First Lady to appear before it. The commission appears to be restrained by public opinion that doing so might give the impression that it is trying to get at the husband. But our source said the commission was determined to carry out its job and may commence an investigation into assets worth billions of Naira allegedly owned by the former First Lady.
